The first casuality of war is always the TRUTH!!! |
The world is at war with an alien race and the population is scared... The Alpha Section are saying one thing and The Iris Network are suspicious of them. You take control of a couragous girl called Jade, a foster parent to all the kids that have lost there parents due to the war, your side-kick being a pig and an agent called Double-H. Her job is a freelance reporter. The people need evidence... what is really going on... Its up to you with Jade to find out. You need to use all the skills of an investigating reporter to find everything. Stealth/An eye for detail/good puzzle skills. Side quests include... racing, capturing a population census and mini-games. Only down side is the main game is too short, but from the ending I can guess Ubisoft are making a big and better version :D Game play is excellent and it really gives you a feel for how important information is in a time of war, plus as a added bonus theres LOTS of comedy... just watch Double-H and the way he acts to see how close he comes to copyright infrignment with Buzzlighter.

MARIO!!!! is the plumber as good as hes cracked up to be? |
Six years ago, N64 owners worldwide were stunned by the sheer brilliance of a game. Not just any game, but a game of games. a game so huge, so anticipated.... that for half a dozen years gamers were left to wonder just what a magnificent title would have to be created to follow up to Mario 64. And its here. Its the sequel weve been waiting for.... Super Mario Sunshine!!!! so... we start. we see Peach and Mario flying on a plane, just before the two Toad look alike pilots make a hasty landing on their destination.... meters away from a big pile of goo! And you soon realise marios been framed, by someone very similar...who has littered the island with grime and dirt. After looking around and talking to the villagers (that look like theyve hopped out of some tellytubby spoof) we realise that the textures are dull, and the graphics on buildings are, well... average. did we wait six years for "average"? there is, however, great effects on the goo that has been thrown all over the islands. And the sun has stunning visuals, instead of the usual "sphere of yellow in the sky", that we see on most games. But hey, we expected that! But its not until you dig further into the game that you realise what the hype was about. the controls are excellent- its the only way to describe it! theres a sheer brilliance about being able to control Mario that has never- thats NEVER been experienced in any platformer. Ever. you can jump, squirt, clean, jet and hover like never before using Marios new water gun backpack, which helps him to clean up the holiday islands, and clear his name! And the game is huge. literally. so, is it bigger than 64? well, youll have to wait and see.... but one thing is certain, and thats this is a worthy sequel. it could of been better, and a few glitches let it down, but youll soon forget all that within a few seconds of controlling our fat plumber here.graphics: 9/10 not the best, but honestly, you wont notice sound: 9/10 pure Mario bliss. gets repetitive, though gameplay: 10/10 you wont believe your thumbs! lifespan: 10/10 a gigantic game that will keep you entertained overall: 95% a true sequel, even better if youve never played mario 64.
